Women’s Retreat – Spruce Lake, PA

What a blessed time I had at the Women’s Retreat with my sisters in the Lord!!

I was blessed to have my co-worker who attends my former church (which hosted the retreat) with me on the trip. She made me a turkey and cheese sandwich (so nice of her).

I was reunited with sisters I hadn’t seen in years! We had blessed time of ministering to one another through our life stories, praise/worship and praying for one another.

I ate so much food, I knew I needed to burn extra fat off my body..LOL!!

There was so many activities to do but I knew exactly what I wanted to do…GO HIKING!!

1 Corinthians 9:24-25 – Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.  And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.                                                            My co worker,  another sister and I started the hike. I thought it was going to be a smooth walk but it wasn’t. There were so many boulders and rocks that I had walk on. It was so annoying but I was determined.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 –  Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.                                                                                                                                After walking for at least 45 min – 1 hour, my ankles and lower leg took a beating from all the rocks and water we had to walk on including walking over a log. It was crazy!! We arrived at a place where we had no idea how we were going to move forward. We literally had to do some upper body strength and use both hands to get on the other side of the mountain hike. I did not want to go further and do that hike until a group of sisters came from behind us and went before us to accomplish the task. That encouraged our group to take the leap and finish the task. One of the blessings of the body of Christ is encouraging one another to finish the race. Lesson learned.

Philippians 4:13 –  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.              There was so much joy and shouts of victory as we climbed that mountain to get to the other side!! I hope you can imagine this victory in your own life!! There was nothing we couldn’t accomplish in Christ! I remember the sister that was with my co worker and I commented that if it wasn’t for us moving forward with the climb, she would have turned back. Thank You Jesus!

Isaiah 40:31 – But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles; They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.                                                                                                                                          As we got to the other side we faced the hurdle of weariness in our bodies and the need to go back to the camp. We took pictures and looked at the beautiful view from the top. You would have thought we climbed Mt Everest. Just taking it all in and watching the eagles fly by made us feel like we were soaring as eagles..

Isaiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.                                                                                 Going back to the camp was no joke!! We had to go down the mountain walking on rocks! I didn’t know how much I could endure. I picked up a wooden stick which became my staff (like Moses) to get me through. I started walking like an elderly person moving side to side because I was so tired of the hike.

Something came to me when my co worker commented that we should have been told how long this hike was going to be. God really spoke that if He told us the things that were going to happen to our lives in advance, we would look for shortcuts. We have to go through the fire knowing He is in the midst.

Revelation 21:1 – 27 – Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.  Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.                                                                                                                           We came to the end of our hike and I was so happy and tired at the same time. Again, my co worker commented we made it to the end and that she can see our cabins . Oh, Glory to God!! May we make it to the end of this Christian race seeing the streets of gold with Christ standing at the gate to usher us in!!

Hallelujah!!!! Prepare us in these last days!!

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

God Bless
