Psalm 34:1-3 – I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lordlet the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

I consider my myself a worshipper than a singer. There is something about entering into the Holy of Holies and inviting others to enter in with you. I thought back to my choir days as a member of the choir and soloist at Times Square Church in NYC. Going through the fire and floods in my life, the Word of God and Worship has been pivotal in my growth in the Lord. there is a “love relationship” like never before. You feel the “comfort and the presence of the Lord circling around you. You have to be in that place to know what I mean.

Let’s look at some scriptures:

Psalm 150:1-6 – Praise the Lord!Praise God in His sanctuary;Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 95: 1-6 – Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods.  In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also.  The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Psalm 96:1-9 – Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.

Psalm 149:3 – Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.

Psalm 146:1-2 – Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

Psalm 95:6 – Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 100:2 – Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.

I love worshiping God in many languages. I have been blessed for 10 years to be a part of a church that represents over 100 nationalities. I have had the pleasure of going around the world doing missions with the choir and other church members.

Living this “christian” life is not easy but it is worth it.

Praise and worship has helped me through some joys and very low times in my life. It is through those hard times, that you praise Him even more with all your heart, mind and soul.

I encourage you, whatever you are going through, take some time to surround yourself with worship music. Whether you listen at home, on your ipod, computer or in your car it will get your mind focused on Him.

I’ve learned that when you go into a time of praise, don’t ask Him for anything. Just praise Him for who He is and what He has done in your life.

Enjoy your worship time with Him!

Prayer: Father God, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross to set me free. If He does nothing else in my life, He has done more than enough!! I praise you!! I give you all the Glory and the Praise! You are worthy!! You are Lord !!
