Are You Worried? What are You focusing on? 15 Day Healing Challenge – Day 2 – Matthew 6: 22 – 23; 25-34 (July 23, 2016)

Its Day 2 and hopefully you got through the steps of renewing your faith to God and releasing those who have hurt you. If you skipped Day 1, go back to it.

I don’t know about you but I felt more attacks from the enemy on this journey. The attacks almost made me feel like throwing in the towel but I am pushing ahead.

Don’t let anyone or anything stop you from this journey. This is where your deliverance and break through will manifest. As you seek God, He will manifest Himself to you.

Let’s start with the spirit of worry. Yes, it is a spirit. It gives you a lack of peace and sometimes sets off making rash decisions that you regret later on. So what are worried about?…your children? your husband? being single? relationships? finances? health? the future?

The Lord says in Matthew 6: 25-34 not to worry about what you will eat, drink or wear. Why ? Because the birds don’t sow or reap but God feeds them and you are more valuable than the birds of the air. Constant worry will not solve the problem any faster. This is why we must leave everything to God. He knows the right season to open up doors. He can speak to you in your spirit on how to solve situations in your life but You must give everything to Him. The longer you hold on to the situation, the longer it will take for God to move because you are still in control. You must release the control to Him.

Matthew 6:34 – “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Eye

Let’s talk about the Eye. It’s the part of the body that gives you sight to see things, people and places. You enjoy the sights of what God has made and it brings joy to your heart.     Are we focusing on things that bring worry, depression, fear or jealousy? Are you looking at things that are spiritually hurting you?

As a single person who is waiting a long time to get married, seeing young people half my age getting married is depressing. You feel happy for them but then you start to wonder why God is not doing it for you.

I remember in my 20s when I was working temp jobs, I did not have money to buy clothes that I wanted because most of money went to rent and food. I would look at people who had the same classy style I had and the money to spend on buying really nice clothing. The struggle was so real. Now, in my 40s, I don’t worry about it too much because it’s not that important.

My heart is music – recording, traveling, ministering to people. When I see other people with their album coming out and I haven’t finished a song yet, it’s not a happy moment for me. What is it that you are focusing on that is causing worry ?

When you watch TV, go to the movies or look at things on the internet, are there things that you are looking at or doing that is grieving the heart of God (ex. Pornography, Gambling, Adultery)?

This is not about condemnation. This is about deliverance. We have all “fallen short of the Glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” – Romans 3:23-24

Matthew 6:22 -“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”

Let’s Pray: Father God, we thank you for bringing to light that You need to be in FULL control of our lives, not HALFWAY. Help us, convict us of anything that we are looking at that is making us to worry and doubt your sovereignty. Forgive us Lord of the things we look at that is grieving your heart. Wash our eyes, through the blood of Jesus, to focus on you and what you will do in and through our lives. Thank You God, in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen
