So I decided to incorporate a protein conditioner to my hair. I usually do a hot oil treatment every week but I wanted to try something different.

I noticed when I opened the container, it had a strong smell of mustard. hence, the mustard seed oil.

Yesterday, I went to the beauty supply store and purchased a 100% Natural Protein Conditioner by Tropic Isle Living and a Conditioning Cap.

The main ingredient is Jamaican Black Castor Oil. It also contains Mustard Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Lavender and Pimento Oil.

Let’s talk about what each oil does:

Jamaican Black Castor Oil –  contains Vitamin E and Omega 6 Fatty Acid. Its nutrients thickens hair, increases hair growth, prevents hair damage, eliminates dry hair, deeply moisturizes hair and scalp, makes hair shinier and boost your hair’s overall health.

Mustard Seed Oil – Has fatty acids – oleic acid, linoleic acid and erucic acid. It is effective in

  • stimulating circulation,
  • digestion and excretion.

This oil also:

  • stimulates blood circulation,
  • prevents fungal infection,
  • prevents hair loss,
  • boosts appetite
  • aids in digestion
  • promotes sweating and muscle growth
  • prevents bacterial skin infection
  • provides relief from rheumatism and arthritis

Vitamin E Oil – A powerful, fat soluble antioxidant that rejuvenates your health and beauty. It

  • repairs damaged hair follicles
  • fades scars
  • fights wrinkles
  • boosts your immune system
  • regulates blood sugar
  • keeps your heart healthy
  • prevents stroke induced brain damage

Avocado Oil – contains a major essential acid called oleic acid (omega 9) which lowers some cancers, prevents auto-immune diseases, speeds cell regeneration, eliminates microbial infections, reduces inflammation inside and out, and lowers the risk of heart disease.

It can be used for cooking at high temperatures (ex.stir fry).

It is loaded with chlorophyll which is a natural source of magnesium to remove heavy metals like lead and mercury from the liver, kidney, brain and other organs.

For hair, it promotes healthy hair, faster growth and clear dandruff.

It can be applied topically to help with cracked heels, insect bites and stings, sunburn, eczema, psoriasis and accelerates healing wounds (cuts, scrapes, burns, sunburns).

Grapeseed Oil – contains a high amount of linoleic acid (omega 6)which provides protection against moisture loss. It is a fairly light oil and odorless. It absorbs well in hair and skin.

Lavender Oil – has calming and relaxing properties. Used to alleviate insomnia, anxiety, depression, restlessness and stress. It relieves muscles and joint pain.Lavender oil is antiseptic and can be used to treat acne, burns and cuts. For hair, it promotes blood circulation, hair growth and help with those struggling with alopecia.

Pimento Oil – extracted from the pimento tree in the Caribbean. It prevents hair loss. Its an antioxidant that fights free radicals and repairs cellular damage.
