21 Day Daniel Fast – Day 21 – January 31, 2016 – The Power of Prayer

BE MATURE by WARREN WIERSBE

Yeah!!! It’s the final day of the 21 Day Fast!! How awesome the journey!!

Gotta end this thing on the foundation of the Christian faith – Prayer and the Word of God.

Prayer opens our hearts and minds to the Lord as we communicate our prayers, praise and petition to Him.

1 John 5:14-15 –Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Many times we can pray for things that God can answer immediately. There are some prayers that can take years. And then, there are some that are not answered because of sin in that person’s life. They would need to repent in order to be healed. At the end of the day, He is still faithful.

But what about prayers that don’t exactly get answered the way we want it?

That physically sick family member or church member that was healed by being taken from this earth and now in heaven fully healed – not the prayer we wanted but how God chose to answer it.

When we go through trials, can we still trust God or do we turn away from God and handle things the way we want it?

I can personally testify that many years of your life will be taken when you choose not to have a personal relationship with the Lord because of anger and hurt that you have against Him.

Praying and singing were important elements in worship in the early church and they should be important to us. Our singing should be an expression of our inner spiritual life. The believer’s praise should be intelligent (1 Cor 14:15) and not just the mouthing of words or ideas that mean nothing to him. It should come from the heart (Eph 5:19) and be motivated by the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18).

What can prayer do for you and me?

  1. Heal
  2. Set you free from besetting sins
  3. Give you power to minister to the Lost
  4. Increase your faith
  5. Fight the power of Satan

Prayer is a powerful weapon that not only changes lives but NATIONS!

PRAYER: Father God, increase my prayer life. Let 2016 be the year of breakthrough in my prayer life. Let me be a powerhouse in the lives of others. That those who do not know the Lord will choose to serve You. That those that need healing would be healed through the power of Your Name as I lift them up in prayer unto you.  Lord, set me free from the things that bind me that I may spend time with You in prayer and praise. AMEN.
