There are 3 types of faith – Dead Faith, Demonic Faith and Dynamic Faith.
The person with dead faith has only an intellectual experience. in his mind, he knows the doctrine of salvation, but he has never submitted himself to God and trusted Christ for salvation. He knows the right words, but he does not back up his words with his works. Faith in Christ brings life(John 3:16) and where there is life must be growth and fruit. Three times in this paragraph, James warned us that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:17, 20,26)
The person with demonic faith believes what the demons believe – the deity of Christ, in hell and Jesus Christ as the Judge. They submit to the power of His Word. They believe and tremble. It involves intellect and emotions. Its not enough to believe what the demons believe. A changed life has to backup your belief. “Show me thy faith without works,” challenged james, “and I will show thee my faith by my works”(James 2:18).
The person with dynamic faith has power that results in a changed life. Their faith is based on the Word of God. True saving faith leads to action. Its not intellectual or emotional. Its obedience on the part of will.
Abraham was a friend of God(Gensis 15 and 22). Rahab was a sinful women(Joshua 2 and 6). What did they have in common? Saving faith in God.
PRAYER: Father God, I thank you for saving me. Forgive me for not walking in the kind of faith that tears down walls in my life and the life of those around me. Help me to walk in the Dynamic faith you have set out for me that I may be a blessing to those around me and to your Name. Amen
